Thanks Jason and tritan67!

Happiness is a fresh new server! Over time, things get a bit sloppy, and you can expect little errors here and there to add up. Next thing you know, there are whole sections of a file system that you come across and say, "...wonder what the heck all of this is here for..."

Coming Soon: The Skyline Computer Science Main Page!

We are so happy to have a server that we can use for so many purposes. Give us a week and you won't believe all the cool stuff you'll be able to find here. If you are a student in CS at Skyline and would like an account on this server, just talk to Mr. G or Jason or Tyler, or basically any of the students that are constantly hanging out in the CS Lab Room 229--like Manny.

User accounts have been set up for all the members of the MAD Team, and I have changed the default config to allow each student user their own personal web pages, just like on the older CentOS version of our server. I think you'll really enjoy the things Jason and Tyler have helped set up on here--I like to think of it as "a server done the right way."

This page will soon be much prettier, and will have links to many of the cool things we will be using the server for, including the return of the Awesome SKYLINE CREATIVE COMMONS! If you want to learn how servers work, and how web sites and web applications are made, come join in on the fun!

Python-Powered

Looking to the future, I have decided to make Python the prime development language for this site. We have Django and MoinMoin up and running, and we will be adding more fun stuff as we create it. If you want to learn Python, there will be many tutorials here, and Python will be making a strong return to the CS curriculum at Skyline, after taking a one-year sabattical.

Thanks!

Mr. G
